Sophie Robinson - Tips & tricks
"If a piece, a colour, a pattern or a whole collection makes you think ‘this is exciting, this is making me feel good’, trust that - bringing those pieces into your home will help to cultivate that good positive feeling, which is ultimately really important to our mental health and wellbeing."
"My design process always starts with how you want to feel in a space and how you’re going to use it.
If you want to feel uplifted and energised, go for lighter, brighter colours. Busier patterns always create a feeling of energy. At the other end of the scale, if you're trying to create something more relaxed, you might pull back on the clashing patterns and contrasted colours, and ramp up the texture instead."
"Slow decorating is one of my design philosophies. You shouldn’t feel the pressure, on your time or your money to do it all at once. It could even be that picking up a couple of brightly coloured accessories would give your home the refresh that you need."

"I think a lot of mistakes are made by being overly cautious in small spaces. Some of our smallest, most intimate rooms can be our most special rooms, like the TV snug, the box bedroom or the bathroom. They can be like little jewel boxes!"
"We have to remember that our interior spaces aren't 2D, or intended to live in photographs. When you're in a space, your eye will pick up on all the texture - so I always encourage people to include it in their design.
Layering textures will create feelgood interiors: in this collection we've used cotton velvet on our cushions, and brushed woven cotton for our bedding. There’s fringing, embellishment, embroidery and more - all to help add snuggly depth."
