Why reviews are so important
Product reviews offer the perfect way to help our customers make up their minds and shop our range with confidence. All our reviews come from customers like you and offer personal experience and feedback, as well as raising any concerns or issues about products. Some reviews even have images showing our products in use which can really help you picture them in your home (our flashy imagery is great, but we love the value these photos provide!).
Trust and authenticity are key when it comes to product reviews and we want to know our customers can believe what they’re reading, which is why all moderation is carried out by our reviews partner, Bazaarvoice. We proudly display the Bazaarvoice Trustmark on our website, so our customers know reviews are authentic and genuine.
Reviews aren't only important for our customers – they help us too. As a business we’re constantly reviewing our product range, identifying what our customers love and are always on the lookout for opportunities to improve.
We’ve received more than 2 million product reviews over the years and look forward to receiving many more.
Where do our reviews come from?
After making an online purchase, most customers will receive an email a couple of weeks later asking what they think about their purchase. Most of our reviews come from those responding to this email, however customers who purchase in store can also leave a review directly on the relevant product page of our website. What’s more, as a little thank-you, for every review you leave, you’ll be entered into our monthly £250 e-gift card prize draw that can be used in store or online.
We also receive reviews from our fantastic brand partners. These are still reviews from real customers but are shared from the brand's website. Look out for the brand logos which highlight where the review was originally left.
What makes a good review?
We want our reviews to be full of genuine and honest feedback about a product – whether that’s positive or negative. If you didn't like it, we especially want to hear why, as it helps us to improve our offering. As a customer, it's always worth reading both the positive and negative reviews so you can make an informed buying decision.
Here are a few tips for writing reviews:
- Upload photos of the product. Even if you’re no David Bailey, we love to see our products in-situ.
- Focus on the product rather than the service (we have a proper place to leave service reviews below)
- Include a description of the quality and feel of the product.
- Talk about whether it was what you expected, and does it look like it did on the website.
- Include how you rate the value of this product.
