Pass it on
We’re making it easier to do something useful with your unwanted home bits, whether it’s a tablecloth you never use, a vase you no longer like, or a bed frame you’re replacing.
If you can't get to one of our stores to donate your textiles, don't worry - we’ve partnered with The Salvation Army to make it easier to donate textiles closer to home. Simply follow the steps below to send them a parcel (or two) of home textiles - you can be confident that all your donations will be reused, repurposed or recycled.
What can you send?
We accept all home textiles, clothing, shoes and accessories, including reusable and non-reusable items.
- Reusable items are: clean, dry and in good condition. These clothes or home textiles are ready to be bought and used for their intended purpose straight away.
- Non-reusable items are: worn out, damaged, marked, etc. These items are no longer fit for their intended purpose, but can be recycled.
How to pack your donations:
Please use the ‘bag in bag’ approach if you’re donating a mixture of reusable and non-reusable items.
1. If you have any, place all non-reusable textiles in a bag and seal it shut.
2. Get a larger bag (or box) and place the first, sealed bag inside. Then place your reusable textiles inside the larger bag, too.
3. Seal up the larger bag with everything inside, ready to send.

Online Takeback Scheme Frequently Asked Questions
Instead of coming to a Dunelm store to donate your unwanted textiles, with our online Textile Takeback Scheme, you can generate a free label and send your unwanted textiles straight to The Salvation Army at your local DPD, Yodel Return or InPost drop-off point. It’s a fuss free way to have a clearout, and you’ll be helping to raise vital funds for charity, too!
SATCoL, the trading arm of The Salvation Army, is the largest charity-owned textile collector in the UK. Each year, SATCoL puts more than 250 million items to good use, including over 62,000 tonnes of second-hand textiles.
The profits raised from the resale of your items will be given to The Salvation Army to keep funding the great work they do throughout the UK. The Salvation Army provides specialist support for survivors and potential victims of modern slavery, shelter for people experiencing homelessness, and so much more.

Unfortunately, we can’t track individual donations.
Absolutely! You can donate as many times as you like, as long as your reusable or non-reusable textiles meet the criteria, and your parcel doesn’t exceed the maximum weight and dimensions.
Help reduce waste by dropping off clean home textiles at our stores*. Your contributions will be re-used, donated, or recycled into something new.
*Not available in Camarthen, Crawley, Feltham, Jersey, Kidderminster, Llanelli, Loughborough, Scarborough and Yeovil.
What do we accept?
We accept all home textiles, including clothing. Just remember, we can only accept clean, bagged textiles, but it's fine if they're ripped or torn
How does it work?
1. Wrap or bag your pre-loved textiles.
2. Drop them off at a participating store.
3. They’ll be sorted by what can be re-used or recycled.
What happens next?
All contributions will be rehomed or recycled, after a thorough inspection process. Our aim is to keep products in use for as long as possible, so we’ll only recycle textiles when they’ve reached the end of their useful life.
Textiles that are ready to be recycled are combined with other post-consumer sources and repurposed into new items as part of our Conscious Choice Remade collection. These products are made from at least 40% pre-loved materials, which we think gives them an extra feel-good factor.
